NEW CONCERT VENUES FOR 2008!
We are very pleased to announce the addition of two beautiful new venues to our Battle Proms Series for 2008 - Althorp Park and Borde Hill Garden. We are looking forward to delighting our new audiences!

As well as new venues we have an exciting new line up for 2008 including the addition of the acclaimed tenor soloist Nicholas Ransley who will join our soprano soloist Denise Leigh to sing a selection of arias and operatic duets. This year all of our concerts will be graced with a wonderful Spitfire Air Display choreographed to Gustav Holst's Jupiter!

The only concert in the world
to fire over 200 cannons to music!

As well as performing Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, the Battle Proms is the only concert that stages Beethoven's 'Battle Symphony' (Wellington's Victory). Beethoven scored this piece for 193 cannons! We rise to this challenge by following his original score with the full complement of cannons ~ a unique and magnificent spectacle.

Dramatic Cavalry and Infantry Displays!
|
|
This year the Napoleonic cavalry and infantry re-enactors will duel, drill and skirmish their way into the first half of the evening's entertainment. Their pre-concert skill-at-arms displays are horsemanship at the highest level.

It's time to crack open the champagne and be entertained in spectacular fashion!
